TEACHING IS THE PASSION AND THE FOCUS
Successful piano study is founded on a solid musical partnership between the teacher, the student, and the student's family or peers, depending on the student's age. By creating a healthy environment that encourages the best from absolute beginners, and a structure that allows for progressive development, student retention is at 98%. By focusing on making great art, the student can learn how to carefully prepare, practice, perform their music for themselves and the important people in their lives. The beauty of music is a subtle blend of rigid structure and natural freedom, and the student needs to allow the teacher to help guide them in their journey and for the teacher to always be listening carefully to the student. Once everyone is working as a team to achieve a goal, beautiful things happen, and that happens at piano lessons.
Our StudentsStudents range in age from 3 to 65 years old and are all at different levels. Although some of my students are gifted performers who have studied music in college, most are bright children in school who want a skill that helps them develop as a person, without the intent of becoming a professional musician. Instead, the hope is that music will be a healthy and excellent way for students to express themselves for the rest of their lives.
